The official website for the television anime adaptation of Tanba’s light novel Saikyou Degarashi Ouji no Anyaku Teii Arasoi: Munou wo Enjiru SS Rank Ouji wa Koui Keishousen wo Kage kara Shihai suru (also known as The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for the Throne) has revealed additional cast members, key staff, and the first promotional video. The series is scheduled to premiere in July 2026.

Yuuji Yanase (Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.) is directing the anime at Maho Film, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken) handling series composition. Kazuko Tadano (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon) is designing the characters.
Tanba began publishing the adventure fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in February 2019. Kadokawa started printing the series under its Sneaker Bunko label with illustrations by Yuunagi in September of that year. The 16th volume went on sale April 1, 2025, and the 17th volume is scheduled for July 1, 2025.
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Yukino Amagai, began serialization in Young Ace UP digital magazine in December 2019. Kadokawa released the ninth volume in November 2025.
Kadokawa simulpubishes both the light novel and manga in English on the Book☆Walker Global platform.
