Evangelion Shin Gekijouban + Shin Evangerion Gekijouban Blu-ray BOX Sets Announced for 30th Anniversary
To commemorate the 30th anniversary since the broadcast of the Shin Seiki Evangerion TV series in 1995, it has been decided that Blu-ray BOX sets collecting Evangerion Shin Gekijouban and Shin Evangerion Gekijouban will be released on December 10, 2025. In conjunction with this announcement, a 15-second SPOT video has been released, and information about original store-exclusive benefits has also been revealed.
The Evangelion series caused a social phenomenon starting with the broadcast of the Shin Seiki Evangerion TV series in 1995. Since 2007, it has been rebooted as the Evangerion Shin Gekijouban series with planning, script, and chief direction by Anno Hideaki, and the three films, : Jo, : Ha, and : Q, were released to great success.
On March 8, 2021, Shin Evangerion Gekijouban, the fourth and final installment of the new theatrical film series, was released, achieving a final box office revenue of 10.28 billion yen and attracting 6.73 million viewers. The series consistently gains new fans and enjoys support from a wide range of demographics.
This Blu-ray BOX set, titled “EVANGELION 30th Anniversary Movie Collection,” is being released in three different forms to celebrate the series’ 30th anniversary.
The “Evangerion Shin Gekijouban + Shin Evangerion Gekijouban Complete Blu-ray BOX【First Limited Edition】” includes all versions of the films, including the theatrical release versions which have not been previously released as home video products. It consists of 18 discs (14 Blu-ray + 4 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) and is stored in an acrylic case with disc trays specifically designed for each film. A new booklet of approximately 200 pages is planned to be included, and the video extras will contain a large volume of previously released promotional videos.
Furthermore, the “Shin Seiki Evangerion + Evangerion Shin Gekijouban + Shin Evangerion Gekijouban Full Complete Blu-ray BOX【First Limited Edition】,” which also includes the Shin Seiki Evangerion series, is an impressive set consisting of a total of 28 discs (24 Blu-ray + 4 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray). A highlight of this set is the re-inclusion of a reprinted version of the booklet that was bundled with the “Shin Seiki Evangerion NEON GENESIS EVANGELION Blu-ray BOX” released in 2015.
Notably, the numbers appended to the English titles of each film in the Evangerion Shin Gekijouban series and Shin Evangerion Gekijouban are version numbers that are updated when adjustments or content changes are made to the works, such as upon their home video release. This product will include all of these versions.
Additionally, the “Evangerion Shin Gekijouban + Shin Evangerion Gekijouban Blu-ray BOX,” which includes only the latest versions of each film, will be released as a standard edition. Also revealed are images for original benefits and information about store-exclusive items, as well as a “Charatine Board” item that will be available alongside the Blu-ray BOX release.
