About Mononoke
The Mononoke anime follows a mysterious Medicine Seller (voiced by Kamiya Hiroshi) who travels across Japan to exorcise mononoke — spirits born from human emotions and grudges. Originally spun off from the 2006 series Ayakashi‘s “Bakeneko” arc, the TV series began airing the following year. In 2024, a feature-length trilogy set in the Ooku (the inner chambers of Edo Castle) started with Gekijouban Mononoke: Karakasa. The second chapter, Gekijouban Mononoke Chapter 2: Fire Rat, released in March 2025, and Chapter 3: Snake God is scheduled for May 29, 2026.
