City Hunter TV Anime to Air Double Episodes on Nitteleplus Starting June 3, 2026

TV anime “City Hunter” will broadcast on Nitteleplus (Drama, Anime, Music Live) starting Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

City Hunter is a popular manga by Hojo Tsukasa, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump beginning in 1985. The TV anime premiered on Nippon Television in 1987 and sparked a major boom at the time. Protagonist Saeba Ryo is a legendary sweeper (fixer) known as the City Hunter, a celebrated gunman in the underworld who can handle any request with supreme skill. Women with complicated pasts leave the code “XYZ” on station message boards, setting dangerous jobs in motion. The anime features original storylines not found in the manga, and action sequences involving firearms and famous cars draw particular attention.

The ending theme is “Get Wild” by TM NETWORK, a song that still ranks high in 1980s anime song charts to this day.

As the TV series approaches its 40th anniversary next year, longtime fans as well as younger viewers who discovered the show through the live-action adaptation can enjoy it on Nitteleplus.

Broadcast schedule: June 3, 2026 (Wed) onwards, 20:00–21:00 (two episodes back-to-back on weekdays).
