MAPPA, the animation studio behind hits like Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen, is currently accepting applications for its 2027 fiscal year new graduate recruitment. The studio is looking for CG creators, visual artists, and R&D personnel, with the application deadline set for May 31, 2026.
Founded on June 14, 2011, by Maruyama Masao (a former Mushi Pro staffer and co-founder of Madhouse, now Chairman of the Board), MAPPA is currently led by President Ootsuka Manabu. In addition to its Tokyo studio, the company operates a Sendai studio (opened 2018) and an Osaka studio (launched in 2023 as a satellite CGI facility). As of April 2026, MAPPA employs 562 people.
The studio focuses primarily on TV anime but also produces films, commercials, web movies, and other video works across genres. MAPPA also manages rights for IPs it owns, both domestically and internationally. Upcoming projects include Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 (Shimetsu Kaiyuu Zenpen), Jigokuraku Season 2, Dorohedoro Season 2, with Boukyaku Battery Season 2 scheduled for 2027 and Chainsaw Man: Ansatsu-hen (Assassination Arc) planned for a later date.
On May 28, 2026, MAPPA posted an announcement on its official X account (see post), reminding that the recruitment deadline is approaching. The open positions are as follows:
- CG Creator: Tokyo and Osaka
- Visual Artist: Tokyo only
- R&D: Tokyo and Osaka
