The upcoming summer anime Otome Kaijuu Caramelize (Girl Monster Caramelize) has released a batch of new scene cuts ahead of its July 2026 premiere on TBS and BS11. Additionally, an advance screening event for the first two episodes has been announced.
Story Overview
Based on the manga by Aoki Spika serialized in Monthly Comic Alive since 2018, Otome Kaijuu Caramelize is a romantic comedy with a twist. The protagonist is high school girl Kuroe Akashi, also known as Kuroe, who suffers from a mysterious illness. She has lived a solitary life avoiding others, but a chance encounter leads her to fall for the popular class heartthrob Arata Minami. However, when the girl’s feelings of love awaken, a dormant power is unleashed. The story pits love against reason, overturning typical shōjo manga conventions. The manga has sold over 230,000 copies cumulatively, with volumes 1 through 9 currently on sale.
New Scene Cuts Offer Glimpse of Romance and Kaijuu Action
The newly revealed scene cuts showcase the romantic struggles of Kuroe and her friends, heart-pounding moments, and the imposing presence of the giant monster Halgon, which is triggered by love. These images highlight the series’ unique blend of romantic comedy and kaijuu spectacle, raising anticipation for the TV broadcast.
Advance Screening Event Details
An advance screening of episodes 1 and 2 will be held ahead of the TV premiere. This rare opportunity allows fans to experience the episodes on the big screen. Four main cast members will appear at the event: Hikari Chiga (Kuroe Akashi), Daiji Kajita (Arata Minami), Akira Sekine (Manatsu Tomozori), and Haruka Shiraishi (Kokoro Kouno).
Attendees will receive a special clear file as a gift, with the design kept secret until the day of the event. The file will be unveiled exclusively at the theater.
