Pokémon and RIMOWA Team Up for a Special 30th Anniversary Collection
To mark the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, luggage brand RIMOWA has announced a Japan-exclusive collection that blends the spirit of adventure with the world of Pokémon.
First released in 1996 for the Game Boy, Pokémon Red and Green became a global phenomenon, expanding into trading cards, TV anime, and movies. The anime, which began in 1997, continues to this day, with a new series starring dual protagonists Liko and Roy launching in April 2023. The stop-motion series Pokémon Concierge, co-produced with Netflix, is also currently streaming.
The collaboration draws on shared themes of “adventure” and “meeting companions.” The lineup includes three leather luggage charms, a sticker set, and a playful wheel set, all designed to personalize travel style.
Leather Luggage Charms – Pikachu, Charmander, and Charizard
Leather Luggage Charm Pikachu – ¥42,900 (tax included)
The illustrations on the leather charms and sticker set use the latest seasonal colors from the Essential collection: “Magenta” and “Orange,” which launched April 23, 2026. The charms are made of Italian leather with embossing and hand-finishing. Each charm depicts a Pokémon playing alongside a sleek suitcase. Pikachu is paired with RIMOWA’s iconic “Silver” suitcase, Charmander with a vibrant “Orange” suitcase, and Charizard with a sophisticated “Magenta” case – a nod to Charmander’s evolution into Charmeleon and then Charizard.
Sticker Set with Kanto Starters
RIMOWA & Pokémon Sticker Set – ¥7,700 (tax included)
The sticker set features Pikachu and the three starter Pokémon from Pokémon Red and Green – Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle – all enjoying themselves. The designs also include suitcases inspired by the Essential collection’s latest colors and the classic Original collection.
Wheel Set Inspired by the Poké Ball
Wheel Set Pokémon – ¥42,900 (tax included)
This wheel set is a part for the customization service “RIMOWA UNIQUE.” It can be attached to all models of the Classic collection, as well as the Cabin size of the Original and Essential collections. The red-and-white color scheme evokes a Poké Ball, and the center of each wheel features RIMOWA’s monogram logo inspired by the Cologne Cathedral, paying homage to the brand’s hometown of Cologne, Germany.
Release Details
All items go on sale Tuesday, June 2, 2026. A lottery will be held at six RIMOWA stores (Omotesando, Ginza 7-chome, Nagoya Sakae, Osaka Shinsaibashi, Kobe, and Fukuoka) from 11:00 to 13:00. From 16:00 onward, and on the official RIMOWA online site, sales will be first-come, first-served. Note: The sticker set will be handed over at a later date. Participation is limited to those aged 16 and older, and each person may purchase only one of each item.
