Items that were previously sold exclusively at the “Minna no Ponkikki’s Exhibition – P-kies for Everyone” POP-UP SHOP at Shibuya PARCO have now gone on general sale. The lineup includes a range of goods featuring Gachapin, Mook, P-chan, and other beloved characters from the long-running franchise.
The educational children’s program “Hirake! Ponkikki” first aired in 1973, introducing Gachapin and Mook to audiences. In 2023 the duo celebrated their 50th anniversary, and as of April 2, 2025, they have entered their 53rd year. Gachapin, known for his athleticism, works as a weathercaster, while Mook displays his musical talent. Both remain active across television, events, and advertising.
P-chan is an alphabet-shaped alien from P Island on Alphabet Star. Age and gender are unknown. Alphabet Star consists of 26 islands shaped like the letters A to Z, and all of P-chan’s fellow residents from P Island share the letter P shape. P-chan can only speak words that begin with the letter P.
