Sanrio Puroland is set to host a limited-time summer event, “Puroland Neo Natsumatsuri III,” from July 10 to September 1, 2026. This third installment of the “Neo Natsumatsuri” series, which began in 2024, will embrace the theme of “future cool breeze” and incorporate the Y3K (Year 3000) aesthetic—a near-future, cyber-inspired world view that has been gaining attention among Generation Z.

Japan’s First Photo Experience: “Mirai Photo”
Making its debut this year, “Mirai Photo” uses AI to transform your photos into futuristic visuals in real time. Visitors can meet their Y3K selves and even blend Hello Kitty and Kuromi elements into the images for a unique snapshot. The experience costs 1,000 yen (tax included) and allows up to two people per session.

“Kawaii Ennichi” Returns
The popular “Kawaii Ennichi” returns with classic festival games reimagined through Puroland’s lens. New for 2026 are “Kakigori Otoshi” (a shaved ice version of the traditional Daruma Otoshi game) and a yakisoba game topped with Gudetama. The “Wanage” ring toss also returns. Participants can earn an original can badge. Cost: 800 yen (tax included) per play.

Immersive “Digital Ennichi”
The “Digital Ennichi” section offers an even deeper dive into the Neo Ennichi world with MR (Mixed Reality) technology. A new MR ice party game, “Pochacco’s Cool Ice Matsuri,” lets players enjoy feeding ice cream to each other with Pochacco while cooling down. Recommended for ages 13 and up. Participants receive an original acrylic stirrer. Cost: 800 yen (tax included).
“Mirai Yagura” with Hello Kitty & Kuromi
The “Mirai Yagura” (Future Tower) makes its first appearance at the Neo Ennichi venue. 3D CG versions of Hello Kitty and Kuromi in Y3K fashion will be displayed on a see-through LED screen, greeting visitors. A trial version of the 3D digital figures of the Y3K-clad duo will also be distributed.
Cool Energy Station
A dedicated cool spot brings the “future cool breeze” theme to life, featuring a new collaboration with Bandai—an “icicle-like object” containing character toys. Furthermore, participants in the Kawaii Ennichi and Digital Ennichi games can enter a lottery for a chance to experience the special “Chill Cooler” exhibit by Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan.

Collaboration with ‘Wanpaku! Touken Ranbu’
The Touken Danshi from “Wanpaku! Touken Ranbu,” designed and produced by Sanrio, will appear at Puroland for the first time. Special photo spots will be set up within the Neo Ennichi area. Exclusive collaboration goods and limited-edition food menus will also be available.
Photo Spots and Greetings
Special decorations blending summer and Y3K themes will adorn the 3F entrance, including lanterns, acrylic mirror pinwheels, neon, and metallic materials to evoke the “future cool breeze” atmosphere. Paid, reservation-required special greetings allowing character interaction and photo opportunities will also be held.
Limited-Time Food and Goods
Restaurant menus will feature seasonal items, including character-themed curries with a special summer festival presentation. The “future cool breeze” theme extends to practical goods such as pouches, eco-bags, and acrylic charms to boost summer spirits.
