Sanrio Character Park Harmony Land in Japan will kick off a summer event titled “Hachamecha Summer Party!” on July 3, 2026. Running until September 15, the event promises a “summer party” theme with a variety of refreshing and exciting activities for guests.

This year’s Harmony Land summer event centers on the concept of a “summer party.” The park is preparing a range of party content designed to let guests refresh themselves and experience a wild, emotional summer together.
Sun-Tanned Characters Make Their Debut
The park is bringing back its popular “sun-tanned” character look, which has been a hit on social media. This year, alongside Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel, a lineup of Sanrio characters will appear with a summer tan for the first time ever at a Sanrio theme park. The new sun-tanned arrivals include Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, and Ahiru no Pekkle. During the event period, guests can meet these uniquely tanned characters and enjoy special park-exclusive content.
New Water Splash Show: “South Island!? Hachamecha Splash Party!”
A brand-new water-themed show will make a splash. In “South Island!? Hachamecha Splash Party!”, Kuromi is preparing for the summer party when a water shower malfunctions and goes berserk. In front of Kitty Castle, powerful jets of water and bubbles drench the audience, creating a wildly fun and chaotic party. The show features sun-tanned characters appearing on video, accompanied by upbeat music, inviting guests to join in the excitement.
Character Greetings, Limited Goods, and Bingo
In addition to the show, sun-tanned Hello Kitty will appear at Kitty Castle. Guests can also interact with characters at the Character Greeting Fun Studio (advance reservation required, paid). Limited-edition original merchandise will be available for purchase. A bingo game called “Hachamecha Summer Bingo!” will offer luxury prizes.
Return of the “Iceful Parade”
Following its popular debut last year, the participation-style parade “Iceful Parade” will return. Characters dressed in ice-cream-shop-style costumes invite guests to help create special ice cream together.
