Blue Lock Live-Action Cast Adorns Special Full-Band Manga Volumes – Limited Release from June 23

June 9, 2026 marks a once-in-a-century “Blue Lock Day,” and the franchise is celebrating with a unique collaboration between the upcoming live-action film and the original manga. The live-action Blue Lock movie is set to open in Japanese theaters on August 7, 2026.

Full-Band Limited Editions with Live-Action Cast Covers

To commemorate the film’s release, a special series of full-band (full obi) editions of the manga will hit bookstores nationwide. All 22 current volumes will receive these special covers featuring the live-action film’s cast. The limited release is scheduled to begin around June 23, 2026 at bookstores across Japan.

Digital editions of the same special covers will also be available, starting from June 19, 2026 onward on various e-book platforms.

Discounted Pack for Volumes 1-3 with Exclusive Bonuses

A special discounted pack for volumes 1 through 3 of Blue Lock will also be released, priced at roughly the cost of two volumes. This set includes two physical bonus items: an invitation card replicating the “Blue Lock” (Blue Prison) letter that appears in the story, and a parameter card for protagonist Yoichi Isagi.

Bookstore Bonus: Clear Cards in Early July

Starting in early July, select bookstores across the country will distribute clear cards featuring original illustrations from the Blue Lock manga. Details on participating stores and designs will be announced in a follow-up report.

The original Blue Lock manga is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. It won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shonen category. The story follows 300 high school forwards gathered in the “Blue Lock” project, a high-stakes selection program designed to create the world’s greatest striker to lead Japan to World Cup victory.

The TV anime first aired for two consecutive seasons starting October 2022, followed by the theatrical film Blue Lock: Episode Nagi in April 2024. A second TV season of 14 episodes aired from October 2024, and at the “Blue Lock Egoist Festa 2025” event in September 2025, a continuation of the TV series was announced.
