The original anime `Shinsei Galverse` is set for a premiere on its official YouTube channel on June 25, 2025, at 9:30 PM JST. Ahead of the premiere, the official trailer has just been revealed! What is “Shinsei Galverse”?
`Shinsei Galverse` is a next-generation anime project spearheaded by creator Oohira Ayaka, boasting a truly global community. This original anime takes the vibrant Gal culture and blends it with the nostalgic aesthetic of 90s to 00s anime, reimagining it all for a modern sensibility.
The story follows Zero, a mysterious young girl who has lost her memories and descends upon the war-ravaged planet “Amatera.” Amidst the fierce conflict between the local resistance forces and the Imperial Army known as “Gebura,” Zero encounters RING, a young leader fighting to save their world. As Zero’s memories begin to return, she confronts her true self – not just a mere girl, but a being known as “Galverse.”
Back in April 2022, this project successfully crowdfunded its anime production with support from over 4,000 fans. It adopts a unique approach by sharing the production process directly with its fans. The community actively participates in various aspects, from naming the planet and designing costumes to suggesting promotional strategies, making it a groundbreaking “participatory anime” that has garnered significant attention.
Original Work, General Direction, and Character Concept are handled by Oohira Ayaka. Takamura Yuuta serves as Co-Director, with Takahashi Natsuko and Ookubo Masahiro writing the Script. Ishino Satoshi and Nagayama Momo are in charge of Character Design, Hirataryou handles Prop Design, and Liu Yang (Ogura Koubou) is the Art Director. Animation production is by S.o.K, with ARCH producing the series.
The anime’s style evokes the charm of 90s anime while seamlessly integrating the sophistication of modern animation techniques.
The newly released official trailer features the ED song “KYOMEI VERSE” produced by ☆Taku Takahashi feat. KAMIYA, and gives us a listen to the character voices performed by the phenomenal cast: Horie Yui, Tamura Mutsumi, Fairouz Ai, Mitsuishi Kotono, Ootani Ikue, and Ohtsuka Akio.
