The world of Cardcaptor Sakura has inspired a new collection of luxurious hair ornaments from fashion brand MAYLA, known for its tagline “raising body temperature by 2°C.” The collection, titled “Cardcaptor Sakura Iconic Hair Objet Majesté + Kanzashi,” includes three designs representing Sakura, Syaoran, and Yue (Yue), and is now available on MAYLA’s official online store.
Cardcaptor Sakura originally ran in the monthly shōjo manga magazine Nakayoshi from June 1996 to August 2000. The story follows Sakura Kinomoto (Sakura) as she works to collect the Clow Cards, which are said to bring disaster to the world. The manga was compiled into 12 volumes, with a later re-edited 9-volume edition for the magazine’s 60th anniversary. The anime adaptation aired on NHK from 1998 to 2000, covering the Clow Card arc in its first two seasons and the Sakura Card arc in the third. In 2016, the 20th-anniversary sequel Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card began serialization, concluding after 80 chapters (16 volumes) in 2023. An anime sequel of Clear Card has been announced.
MAYLA’s “Cardcaptor Sakura Iconic Hair Objet Majesté + Kanzashi” is a collection of hair ornaments that luxuriously express the world of the series. Three models are available: Sakura, Syaoran, and Yue. They are designed to be easy to style on both medium and long hair.
Sakura Model
The Sakura model takes its motif from the magic circle seen in Clear Card, packed with Sakura’s cuteness. Elegant gold metal is overlaid with soft pink coloring. The gem at the center represents Sakura’s magical power and sparkle.
The wand is designed after the “Dream Staff.” A dangling chain part evokes glittering magic, adorned with stars and Keroberos (Kero-chan), one of Sakura’s important companions. The result is an adorable finish that makes you want to say “Release.”
Syaoran Model
The Syaoran model is inspired by Syaoran’s compass, combining deep green velvet fabric with antique gold. It captures Syaoran Li’s dignified demeanor and slightly mature impression.
The wand is designed after a sword, with a red tassel that sways lightly when moved. Costume-inspired decorations and chain motifs add subtle accents.
Yue Model
The Yue (Yue) model incorporates moon shapes with costume motifs. A three-dimensional feather adds a sense of presence. Yue’s calmness and mystery are expressed through silver metal and a gradient shifting from pale blue to light purple.
Snowflake patterns spread around the costume motif, and a clear sparkling stone gleams like snow at night. The bow and arrow motif gives a clean, elegant silhouette. The tassel evokes Yue’s long, beautiful hair.
The “Cardcaptor Sakura Iconic Hair Objet Majesté + Kanzashi” is priced at 12,100 yen each (tax included), with an additional shipping fee of 600 yen.
