Black Clover 2nd Season Set for October 2026, Director Shuunen Murakami Returns with Special Illustration

TV anime Black Clover 2nd Season will start airing in October 2026 on TV Tokyo and other networks, it has been announced.

Black Clover (story by Yuuki Tabata) was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and Jump GIGA (Shueisha) from February 2015 to May 2026, and has surpassed 24.5 million copies in cumulative worldwide circulation. The TV anime originally aired from 2017 to 2021, and later achieved the number one viewership rank in 87 countries and regions, receiving passionate support overseas as well.

In 2023, a film was released and streamed globally, reaching second place in Netflix’s weekly Global Top 10. The series is known for its intense battle scenes, the strong bonds between unique characters, and their growth, capturing attention not only in Japan but around the world.

Director Shuunen Murakami Returns

Director Shuunen Murakami, who helmed the first TV anime season and the theatrical film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, will return for the second season. The film earned high praise and a second-place spot on Netflix’s weekly Global Top 10. Alongside the announcement, a special illustration message from Murakami has been released.

Anime Expo 2026 Panel

A panel event for the series will be held at Anime Expo 2026, one of the world’s largest anime conventions, taking place in Los Angeles, USA, from July 2 to 5 (local time). Asta voice actor Gakuto Kajiwara and director Murakami will take the stage, offering exclusive talk and the latest information.

Special Recap Video Released

Ahead of the broadcast, a special video recapping the first season in about 10 minutes has been released. The video was previously shown only at the Black Clover exhibition held in Tokyo and Osaka from March to May this year, and is now available to the public on YouTube.
