Production of a sixth season for the TV anime Kanojo, Okarishimasu (Rent-A-Girlfriend) has been officially confirmed. To mark the announcement, a special illustration by character designer Hirayama Hanna was released.
The series, based on the manga by Miyajima Reiji serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine (Kodansha), is a romantic comedy that follows college student Kinoshita Kazuya after he introduces rental girlfriend Mizuhara Chizuru as his real girlfriend to his family and friends, setting off a chain of life-changing events. The TV anime first aired in July 2020.
Season 5, which began broadcasting in April 2026, concluded on June 26 with its 12th episode (episode 60 overall). Immediately after the broadcast, the production of Season 6—dubbed the “Cohabitation Arc”—was announced, along with the release of the “Season 6 Reveal Illustration.”
The illustration depicts Kazuya, Chizuru, and Kazuya’s neighbor Yaemori Mini raising glasses in a toast, creating a celebratory mood. Further details such as the broadcast timing for Season 6 will be announced as they are decided.
