The immersive exhibition “Volleyball Super Experience Space: Haikyuu!! On the Court” opened its doors at Osaka’s Dojima River Forum on June 27, 2026. The day prior, a media preview was held on June 26, featuring Murase Ayumu—the voice of protagonist Hinata Shouyou—alongside professional volleyball players Kenta Koutarou and Shimizu Kunihiro of the top-tier SV League’s Osaka Bluteon, as well as local youth volleyball players.
While Kenta, Shimizu, and the kids took on the interactive exhibits “Aim for the Highest Reach Challenge!!” and “Gachi Receive Battle!”, Murase toured the various display and video content areas. Watching Shimizu and the children play with intense energy on the actual court, Murase’s eyes lit up as the world of the anime unfolded in real space.
After the tour, Murase commented, “I was able to look back on the journey since the anime started, and above all, I really enjoyed experiencing the world of the work with my own body. Whether you know the anime or are experiencing it for the first time, this event lets you fully enjoy volleyball and the world of Haikyuu!! with your whole body. I hope many people will come and visit.”
Murase also tried the “Gachi Receive Battle!” interactive experience. Afterward, he laughed and said, “I didn’t even come close—I was completely hopeless (laughs). The ball felt about three times faster than it looks in the anime. The spatial design was incredible, and I got really excited.” He truly felt the power and difficulty of volleyball firsthand.
Regarding the newly recorded audio guide for the event, Murase noted, “It was recorded specifically for this event, so it depicts the deepening bonds between the members through the experience. It was very interesting.” He expressed anticipation for the exclusive content available only at the venue.
The event is structured around three zones: “Fly,” “Spike,” and “Connect.” Each zone features video displays, interactive exhibits, and hands-on activities that let visitors see, learn, and move to experience the appeal of volleyball in three stages.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by an opening video with newly recorded voiceovers from 12 characters. The theme “Fly, Spike, Connect” is accompanied by dynamic visuals that envelop the entire space.
In the “Fly” zone, Kuroo, Kozume, Yaku, and Bokuto analyze the plays of top athletes with a focus on jumping. The “Aim for the Highest Reach Challenge!!” exhibit is divided into two areas: the “CHALLENGE AREA,” where visitors can compete for the highest reach against characters known for their jumping ability, and the “FREE AREA,” where they can take jump photos alongside the characters.
The “Spike” zone features Hinata, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Nishinoya, Oikawa, and Ushijima reflecting on the evolution of Hinata and Kageyama’s combination plays. The “Synchro Court” allows visitors to experience the iconic duo’s signature moves in an actual court space, with multiple viewing angles and carefully crafted video effects that let them feel the speed and movement changes physically.
In the “Connect” zone, Inarizaki High School’s twin brothers Miya Atsumu and Miya Osamu take the stage. Their perfectly synchronized banter and Kansai-dialect rhythm deliver a collection of super plays featuring Karasuno’s guardian deity Nishinoya Yuu, Nekoma’s defensive pillar Yaku Morisuke, and Inarizaki captain Kita Shinsuke. The “Gachi Receive Battle!” interactive exhibit lets visitors try to receive serves from some of the series’ greatest servers, including Oikawa and Miya Atsumu, experiencing the difficulty and fun of connecting the ball to teammates.
The ending area displays each character’s uniform and memorable lines. After experiencing “Fly, Spike, and Connect,” visitors can appreciate the weight of the players’ words and savor the “fun of volleyball” depicted throughout Haikyuu!! as a fitting conclusion to the event.
