About the Series
Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, published by Shueisha under the Jump Comics label. The series spans 23 volumes and has sold over 220 million copies worldwide. The story follows Tanjirou Kamado, a boy whose family is slaughtered by demons, and his quest to turn his demonized sister Nezuko back into a human by joining the Demon Slayer Corps. The anime adaptation, produced by ufotable, began with the television series “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Tanjirou Kamado, Risshi-hen” in April 2019. The latest theatrical release, “Gekijouban Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou Akaza Sairai,” premiered on July 18, 2025, and has achieved remarkable box office numbers: 27,455,968 attendees and 40,200,019,000 yen in revenue over 266 days of release, making it the second highest-grossing domestic film in Japan. The Blu-ray and DVD are set for release on July 29.
