About the Series
Yamato yo Towa ni REBEL3199 is the latest installment in the Uchū Senkan Yamato 2199 series, reinterpreting the 1980 theatrical film Yamato yo Towa ni into a seven-chapter, 26-episode saga. The title’s “3199” hints at events a millennium later. The mysterious Dezarium, who appear as adversaries, share a hidden connection with Earth, and the shocking revelations from the previous installment continue to expand.
The drama deepens as Mori Yuki, captured by the enemy officer Alfon, and Susumu Kodai, burdened by guilt, face the trial of separation. Sasha, the orphaned child of Starsha, also becomes deeply involved. Every character acts with conviction, driving a tense battle that questions the very meaning of the conflict. What does the keyword “REBEL” truly signify?
In Chapter 6, “Aoi Meikyū” (Blue Labyrinth), the space battleship Yamato crosses a spacetime node and arrives in Tokyo of 2026—long before the war with Gamilas, on an Earth untouched by planet bombs. The temptation to change history by heading to Gamilas spreads before Ryūsuke Domon, mirroring the same allure of “historical revision” that Dezarium pursues.
The future where humanity becomes Dezarium, and even the history of war, might vanish. The Yamato and its crew would also disappear. Yet peace might remain. The desire to alter tragedy lingers. As red-eyed Sasha watches, the Yamato transforms into a black vessel. What awaits at the end of its wake?
