Anime Film Hyakuen. Additional Cast

Hyakuen. is based on the serialization debut work by the talented rising star Uoto, who previously won the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Manga Grand Prize at the youngest age ever for his manga Chi.: Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite (also adapted into anime). The film delves into the world of track and field, depicting the madness and passion of those captivated by the fleeting brilliance of the 100-meter dash, a race over in less than 10 seconds. Since its completion, the manga has garnered fervent popularity, resonating deeply with readers who feel their “hearts burn hot” and experience a “feeling never felt before in sports manga.”

Directing the film is the acclaimed creator Iwaizawa Kenji, whose debut feature film Ongaku received high praise and numerous film awards both domestically and internationally, including a nomination for a US “Annie Award,” often called the “Academy Awards of Animation.” The voice cast features highly regarded, veteran actors: Matsuzaka Toori plays Togashi, a “talent-type” runner naturally blessed with speed, while Sometani Shouta takes on the role of Komiya, an “effort-type” runner who becomes obsessed with the 100-meter dash after meeting Togashi.

The film had its world premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025 this June, one of the world’s largest animation film festivals, receiving rave reviews from global film and anime fans. A North American release in October has also been decided, demonstrating the intense interest the film is already attracting both domestically and internationally.

Now, adding even more depth to this passionate, momentary world of “100m,” the newly announced cast members include Kasama Jun, Takahashi Rie, Tanaka Yuki, Tanezaki Atsumi, Yuuki Aoi, Uchida Yuuma, Enoki Junya, Ishitani Haruki, Ishibashi Hiiro, and Sugita Tomokazu.

Among the other athletes Togashi and Komiya encounter throughout their track and field journey, Enoki Junya voices Numano, a bright and friendly member of Komiya’s high school track club. Ishitani Haruki plays Keida, the captain of Komiya’s high school track club, who fears Komiya’s potential. Ishibashi Hiiro is cast as Morikawa, a track athlete who looks up to Togashi. Sugita Tomokazu voices Onomichi, Jinshin’s long-time rival who calls himself Jinshin’s nemesis.

The feature-length anime film Hyakuen. opens nationwide on September 19, 2025. Look forward to further updates!

Comments from the Cast

Kasama Jun (Jinshin)

Jinshin from Hyakuen.

I will be playing the role of Jinshin.
This time, the most important and challenging aspect was the unadorned “raw emotion.” A person’s “emotions” and “feelings” are not originally meant to be outwardly expressed. However, in this work, I felt that the value and color of the film came from outputting the various “raw emotions” people possess, creating a swirling torrent. Therefore, my primary goal in acting was to live as Jinshin carefully and without pretense.
Please enjoy this whirlwind-like fusion of “raw human emotion” and “entertainment.”

Takahashi Rie (Asakusa)

Asakusa from Hyakuen.

Since I approached the audition with my own nature and experiences, receiving the opportunity to be connected with Asakusa made my heart warm. The film captures the charm of the original work to its core, and the exchanges felt like reliving moments from my own life, like recording them on video. I am honored to be able to live together in the world of Hyakuen.!

Tanaka Yuki (Shiina)

Shiina from Hyakuen.

I am Tanaka Yuki, and I will be playing the role of Shiina.
Watching the athletes step up to the starting line, each carrying their own reasons not to lose, striving to be even 0.01 seconds faster, was so captivating that I found myself holding my breath.
It is a great honor to run alongside Shiina-chan in this world of intense dedication, where hearts and bodies are pushed to their limits, sometimes showing moments of fragility. Please come to the theater and witness their extreme way of life, betting everything on just a few seconds…!

Tanezaki Atsumi (Togashi/Elementary School)

Togashi (Elementary School) from Hyakuen.

I have lived a life where I was particularly slow at running, so I never imagined the lives of people who dedicate their lives to the “100 meters.” But Hyakuen. is filled with many emotions that I do recognize. It is intense. From the moment I first encountered the work, and throughout the recording process, I felt this heat constantly. I hope everyone can feel that heat too.
I would be happy if you could feel the heat I felt from the moment I came into contact with the work, and throughout the recording.

Yuuki Aoi (Komiya/Elementary School)

Komiya (Elementary School) from Hyakuen.

Having spent my life running away from running, seeing people define themselves through running, pushing themselves relentlessly because they have to run, was a landscape I saw for the first time through Komiya. Recording the voices while feeling breathless from giving my all was tough, but also surprisingly exhilarating… I hope this feeling comes across! Please do watch it!

Uchida Yuuma (Kabaki)

Kabaki from Hyakuen.

It is a great honor to be participating in Hyakuen. this time.
Kabaki is not a man of many words, but he holds a strong passion within him.
I approached the recording with the intention of carefully conveying each word. I would be happy if you could watch it.
Please enjoy Hyakuen. in theaters!

Enoki Junya (Numano)

Numano from Hyakuen.

I am Enoki Junya, and I will be voicing Numano.
When I read the original manga, I felt an incredible intensity, so I was very happy to be able to participate in the recording this time! The track and field scenes are, of course, amazing, but the everyday scenes are also quite interesting. Please look forward to it!

Ishitani Haruki (Keida)

Keida from Hyakuen.

I also had a period, albeit short, where I dedicated everything I had to track and field, specifically the 100 meters.
Although I had to give up due to injury, I am very happy to be able to live the track and field life I gave up on back then, through the role of Keida in Hyakuen. It is just 10 seconds. Just 100 meters. This is the present for these individuals living in a world that is simple, momentary, cruel, and yet filled with joy. Please look forward to it.

Ishibashi Hiiro (Morikawa)

Morikawa from Hyakuen.

I am Ishibashi Hiiro, playing the role of Morikawa. The original manga deeply moved me, and I desperately wanted to be a part of it, so I was truly happy when the casting was decided. Morikawa’s character is a big fan of Togashi, played by Matsuzaka Toori-san, and since I myself admire Matsuzaka-san, I was able to put a lot of emotion into our exchanges during the recording. Please be sure to watch the heated track and field battles in the theater!

Sugita Tomokazu (Onomichi)

Onomichi from Hyakuen.

I hope I can add a unique touch of color to express the straightforwardness and enthusiasm of young people striving towards their dreams and ideals.
Thank you for your support.
