The manga MURCIÉLAGO -ムルシエラゴ- (with an acute accent on the E) is getting a TV anime adaptation, set to broadcast in 2027. A super teaser PV and super teaser visual have been unveiled, along with comments from the main staff.
Written by Yoshimura Kana and serialized in Square Enix’s Young Gangan, MURCIÉLAGO follows Koumori Kuroko, a former death row inmate turned state executioner granted the right to hunt down violent criminals, and her partner Tozakura Hinako, a master driver with incredible skills. Together they confront the darkness lurking in society. The series has surpassed 2.3 million copies in circulation worldwide.
The super teaser PV and visual feature Kuroko and Hinako. An official X (formerly Twitter) account has also launched, and a follow-and-repost campaign is underway, giving five winners a super teaser visual poster.
The anime’s chief director and series composition are handled by Naoya Takashi, known for Actually, I Was the Strongest? and the Tales of Wedding Rings series. The director is Matsuo Asami, who has worked on The Villainess Falls for the Notorious Noble and Death Game de Meshi o Kuu. Animation production is a joint effort by Satellite (Drops of God, PSYREN) and Staple Entertainment (Tales of Wedding Rings, Wataru-kun no XX ga Houkai Sunzen).
Commemorative illustrations and comments from author Yoshimura Kana, chief director Naoya Takashi, and director Matsuo Asami have also been released.

“This is my first time participating as a chief director, so while respecting the director’s authority, I took on the roles of series composition, scenario, and storyboarding to fulfill my part. As series composer, I focused on how to express the work’s charm in one cour during the script readings. I am grateful to Yoshimura-sensei for warmly watching over the readings and providing valuable opinions. My favorite characters are Manjubito and Hinako. Urara and Momoyama are also favorites. But… Kuroko is cool, playful, and a great cook—she’s wonderful! (heart emoji)”

“I’m director Asami. I’m mainly handling on-site direction. We are currently in the middle of voice recording, and the performances of Kuroko and Hinako are so interesting that they surpass our visuals, stimulating me to reflect that in the drawings. In terms of visual creation, supported by many animators, we aim for the stylish crime action of the original, pushing the erotic and grotesque elements to the limits of broadcast codes. We are also putting effort into car action, with the cooperation of Satellite’s CG department, aiming for cool 3D action.
