Sanrio is bringing a new capsule toy line to stores this summer: the “Spring-Open Mini Pouch Key Chain” featuring five beloved Sanrio characters. The pouches use a spring-loaded mechanism that pops open with one hand, making them ideal for storing small items like eyedrops, lip balm, or other daily essentials. A carabiner clip allows them to be attached to bags or used as a keychain for quick access.
The 2026 Sanrio Character Grand Prix saw Pompompurin take first place, followed by Cinnamoroll in second, Pochacco in third, Kuromi in fourth, and Hello Kitty in fifth. The new capsule toy lineup includes five characters, each with a distinct color and design.
Hello Kitty (red) – Born in the suburbs of London, Kitty White is a bright and kind girl. Her height is five apples tall, and she weighs three apples.
My Melody (pink) – A honest and cheerful girl who cares for her little brother. Her treasure is a cute hood made by her grandmother. She loves baking cookies with her mother and enjoys almond pound cake.
Cinnamoroll (light blue) – A white puppy boy born on a cloud far away in the sky. One day he floated down and was found by the big sister at Café Cinnamon, where he now lives. His curly tail resembles a cinnamon roll, which inspired his name.
Pompompurin (yellow) – A Golden Retriever boy known for his brown beret. He is easygoing, loves the word “outing,” hates “staying home,” and collects shoes as a hobby.
Kuromi (purple) – Self-proclaimed rival of My Melody. Though she looks rough, she is actually very girly and loves handsome guys. Her black hood and pink skull are her trademarks. She is on a mission to turn the world into Kuromi’s image.
