The summer anime Thunder 3 has released a synopsis and preview images for its second episode, titled “MULTIVERSE,” which is set to air on July 15, 2026.
Based on the manga by Ikeda Yuuki, serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine since 2022, Thunder 3 follows the story of three close middle school friends—Pyontarou, Tsubame, and Hiroshi—known as the “Small 3.” They are thrown into chaos when Pyontarou’s energetic little sister Futaba goes missing. The series quickly gained attention on social media for its storytelling and art, earning a nomination for the “Next Manga Award 2022.”
Episode 2 “MULTIVERSE” Synopsis
Pyontarou jumps onto a giant flying battleship that snatched Futaba, falls from a height that would embed him in the ground, but emerges unharmed.
It seems that for Pyontarou and his friends, the “multiverse” is a world where everything is fragile.
Having gained superhero-like powers, the Small 3 set out to find the kidnapped Futaba—and their first stop is to meet their alternate selves from another universe.
Episode 2 of Thunder 3 airs on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, on Fuji TV’s “+Ultra” and other channels.
