Summer 2026 Anime ‘Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You’ Episode 2 Preview: Sasaki Learns Something from Tayama

Summer 2026 anime Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You (スーパーの裏でヤニ吸うふたり) has released a synopsis and scene cuts for its second episode, titled “Smoking Behind the Supermarket: Adding Something” (スーパーの裏で添えるふたり), which airs on Thursday, July 16, 2026, on TBS’s 28-station network nationwide.

The series is based on the manga by Jinushi, which began serialization on Twitter (now X) on March 9, 2022. The first chapter garnered over 280,000 likes, and the manga went on to win first place in the Web Manga category of the “Next Manga Award 2022.” It is currently serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan, and as of January 2026, cumulative print volume had exceeded 3 million copies.

Directed by Suzuki Rito and Mori Aoi, the animation is produced by Asahi Production. The cast includes Satou Takuya as Sasaki, Hoshiki Seina as Yamada/Tayama, Yukinari Toa as Gotou, Toyoguchi Megumi as Oono, Yasuda Rikuya as Obata, Hikasa Youko as Maezawa, and Takahashi Shinya as Suzuki.

Episode 2 Synopsis

Sasaki, reflecting on his behavior after making a new graduate employee cry, meets Tayama again at the smoking area behind the supermarket tonight.

Tayama encourages him, saying “People should notice Sasaki’s good qualities,” but Sasaki doesn’t seem to get it. Tayama then teaches him “something.”

Episode 2 of Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You airs on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 23:56 on TBS’s 28-station network nationwide.
