Tenmaku no Jaadugar Episode 4: Shitara’s Fury, Solkokutani’s Secret Spy Order, and Ogotai’s Shocking Ascension

TV anime Tenmaku no Jaadugar aired its fourth episode, “The Master of the Hearth (Ochigin),” on July 18, 2026. The episode delivered major developments: the introduction of Tolui’s sons, the death of Genghis Khan, a surprise imperial succession, and a chilling request from Solkokutani that has fans buzzing.

Based on the historical manga by Tomato Soup serialized in Akita Shoten’s Souffle, the story follows Shitara (Fatima), a former slave taken prisoner by the Mongol Empire. She meets Doregene, the sixth wife of the Mongol emperor, and together they use wit and strategy to shake the empire from within. The anime is directed by Abel Gongora with chief director Yamada Naoko, produced by Science SARU (known for Dandadan, The Heike Story, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!).

Warning: The following contains spoilers for episode 4.

Shitara’s Outburst: Knowledge vs. Empathy

When Shitara (Fatima) asks Solkokutani why she wanted the book Elements, Solkokutani replies that it is her duty as future empress to gather knowledge from all lands and pass it on to later generations. Shitara, however, explodes in anger. She realizes Solkokutani has no understanding of the sacrifices that brought that knowledge to her hands. Viewers reacted with mixed feelings: “Your Highness… is knowledge something you just take?” and “She’s smart but dull and lacking.”

Three Years Later: Shitara Grows Up

Three years have passed since Shitara became Solkokutani’s tutor. The Mongol army has expanded, defeating the Central Asian empire of Khwarezm. When Tolui returns to his base, his sons Hulegu (CV: Murase Ayumu) and Kublai (CV: Ishibashi Yōsai) greet him. Shitara appears, now older in appearance and fluent in Mongolian, surprising viewers: “She’s all grown up!” and “Her acting sounds like an older sister!”

Genghis Khan, the Mongol emperor and Tolui’s father, makes a brief appearance. His face is not shown, sparking speculation: “Is he too great to show his face?” After a commercial break, three more years pass, and the emperor dies off-screen.

Cultural Details and a Mysterious Stone

A scene depicting the Mongol method of butchering a sheep—splitting the belly rather than cutting the throat—drew interest: “Even meat cutting shows religious differences.” As Shitara works, she laments that she hasn’t retrieved the book or accomplished anything. Suddenly, a stone-like object pops out from the sheep’s entrails, leaving viewers puzzled: “Did that sheep swallow a stone?”

Khuriltai: Ogotai Becomes Emperor

After the emperor’s death, a great assembly (Khuriltai) is called to choose the next ruler. By this time, eight years have passed since Shitara arrived in Mongolia. After 41 days of deliberation, the new emperor is announced. Everyone expected Tolui to succeed according to the tradition of ultimogeniture, but instead the third prince, Ogotai, is chosen. Social media erupted: “You?!” and “Wait, not Tolui?!”

Tolui explains that Ogotai’s ascension was their late father’s wish. He says, “A wise Ogotai as the head, with brothers united, will make the country strong.” Viewers were divided: some praised Tolui’s selflessness, while others criticized: “He’s fine with mass murder but kind to family—that’s the most infuriating type.”

Solkokutani’s Secret Order

Solkokutani, who believed she would become empress, wears a complex expression. That night, she summons Shitara and gives her a secret command: “Become my spy.” Fans were shocked: “A spy?!” and “Is Solkokutani up to something?” Voice actress Kuno Misaki, who plays Solkokutani, posted: “I aimed to express her arrogance.”

Episode 5, titled “The Snake’s Spots Are on the Outside, a Person’s Spots Are on the Inside,” is scheduled to air on July 25, 2026. (Episodes 1–4 are available for free limited-time streaming on TVer until July 26, 2026, at 24:00.)
