TV anime Sousou no Frieren has teamed up with the glamping resort 農園リゾート THE FARM for a special collaboration titled 「思い出を紡ぐ、星と焚き火の旅路」 (Weaving Memories, Journey of Stars and Campfire). Running from July 17 to October 16, 2026, this three-month limited event invites fans to step into the world of Frieren and her companions.
Located in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture, THE FARM is one of the largest glamping facilities in the Kanto region, having won awards for six consecutive years at the Outdoor Innovation Summit. Despite its rural setting, it’s surprisingly accessible: just about 90 minutes by express bus from Tokyo Station. The resort also features a cafe restaurant, a hot spring bath, and multiple accommodation options including glamping tents, cottages, the two-story HABITA rooms, and camp stays. This marks the first anime collaboration for the resort.
Our editor, a self-proclaimed indoor person who loves watching anime while eating ice cream, decided to visit. The thought “Himmel would have done it” echoed in her mind, echoing Frieren’s own words, and so the journey began.
Upon arrival, the sprawling grounds—over 100,000 square meters, larger than two Tokyo Domes—felt like a small village with paved paths winding through nature. No magic needed to avoid getting lost!
First stop: THE FARM Cafe. The menu highlights fresh produce from the farm. We tried the Katori City mushroom and bacon pizza and the rum-infused Basque cheesecake. The mushrooms were surprisingly rich and flavorful.
The cafe also serves a breakfast buffet featuring local Chiba ingredients: six-grain rice from Katori, Shoujou no Tsukudani (a traditional simmered dish), special hojicha from Ogawaen in Sakura City, and Yamatoimo from Tako Town. Terrace seating lets you enjoy the greenery while you eat.
Through the Door into Frieren’s World
The glamping area is separated by a locked door that requires a “magic password” to enter. Once inside, rows of glamping tents appear, evoking the excitement of stepping into a new village.
Despite the July heat, the tents are air-conditioned—a pleasant surprise. Inside, you’ll find a bed, chairs, a fridge, a kettle, and Wi-Fi. The bed cover features the Era Meteor pattern from the series, and the table holds photos of Frieren’s party, plus a notebook for guests to share their thoughts.
Insect repellent is provided, but the multi-layered tent keeps bugs at bay. The bed is comfortable, offering a unique blend of camping and hotel luxury.
Check-in Like a Traveler, and Touch Real Props
Before entering the tent, guests check in at the glamping lounge. Lockers with room keys create a game-like atmosphere. The lounge features life-size panels of Frieren, Fern, and Stark, along with a mini museum of props from the series.
You can hold and take photos with Frieren’s and Fern’s staffs, and Stark’s axe—the latter is noticeably heavy. Also on display are the Holy Staff’s Proof necklace and the Dark Dragon’s Horn, which Himmel kept in a drawer for 50 years. Unlike typical exhibitions, you can touch these items freely, deepening the immersion.
A mimic chest—the famous monster that disguises itself as a treasure chest—is also present. Guests can stick their heads inside for a photo, with realistic-looking teeth adding to the thrill.
BBQ and Dessert Fit for a Hero
Dinner is a terrace BBQ with all ingredients provided. Choose from farm-fresh vegetables and thick, juicy meat. A “BBQ master” gives lessons for beginners. For dessert, enjoy the Melkua-style pudding—a mildly sweet milk pudding with berry sauce, topped with a Frieren flag.
“I wish I could tell my past self that Frieren and her friends are real here,” our editor mused.
A Romantic Scene That Stops Your Heart
Outside the lounge, a life-size diorama shows Frieren and Himmel surrounded by blue flowers, with Himmel kneeling and Frieren extending her left hand as if placing the Mirror Lotus Ring on his finger. It’s a popular photo spot, and guests can’t stop snapping pictures from every angle.
In the evening, a village festival begins. Tents glow with soft light, and a statue of Himmel stands at the center, weathered to look as if it has watched over the village for decades. Flags with sword motifs and other party members’ symbols flutter nearby. Beer and ramune are available, and you can make s’mores at the campfire while chatting with staff (called “villagers”) who have adopted fantasy-style names.
Other activities include stargazing with telescopes and a Struck Out game inspired by Fern’s feat of splitting a boulder.
After a day of fun, relax at the おふろCafeかりんの湯 hot spring, which features moisturizing outdoor baths and a sauna. During the collaboration, a life-size panel of Frieren blowing a kiss is on display. The manga corner includes copies of Sousou no Frieren.
Harvesting Vegetables: Today’s Quest
The next morning, after a refreshing sleep and a breakfast at the cafe, we headed to the farm for vegetable harvesting. Over 100 types of vegetables are grown here, and you can pick kale, green beans, and bell peppers (including a mild “kid’s pepper”). Gloves and scissors are provided, and each guest has a set limit—though it’s easy to get carried away.
The villager recommended making kale smoothies; our editor tried it in an egg sandwich and loved it.
This collaboration offers an immersive experience that blends the world of Sousou no Frieren with the genuine pleasures of a farm resort. Whether you’re a fan of the series, a glamping beginner, or just craving fresh vegetables, this is a must-visit destination.
