Visual Novel ‘Senren*Banka’ Gets Anime Adaptation in 2027

At the Yuzusoft SongFes 2026 event on Sunday, an anime adaptation of the visual novel Senren*Banka was announced, along with the cast and opening theme song artist. The series is scheduled to premiere in 2027.

About the Visual Novel

Developed and published by Yuzusoft, the romance visual novel originally launched on Windows in Japan in July 2016 to celebrate the studio’s 10th anniversary. It later received a global release on Steam in February 2020 via Hikari Field and Neko Nyan, with English and Chinese text support, followed by a Nintendo Switch release in May 2022. The series surpassed 1 million copies sold worldwide in February 2026.

Manga Adaptation

Erika Kiduki drew a manga adaptation that ran in Comic Alive magazine from April 2016 to February 2017. Kadokawa published the second and final volume in March 2017.

Synopsis

Deep in the mountains lies Hoori, a remote village so isolated that no trains stop there. Its rustic charm and hot springs have turned it into a popular tourist destination. One of the village’s main attractions is the divine blade Murasamemaru, stuck in a stone that no one has been able to pull out—until protagonist Arichi Masaomi accidentally breaks it in half.

Before he can process what happened, he is forced to make amends by marrying the village’s shrine maiden. Overwhelmed, Masaomi meets his new fiancée, discovers a mysterious girl only he can touch, and learns about a curse afflicting Hoori. Amid this chaotic new life, he must decide who to set his heart on, with the answers hidden in the legendary sword he now holds.
