To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the TV anime Yuri!!! on ICE, a new commercial featuring fresh narration by Victor Nikiforov voice actor Junichi Suwabe has been released. The CM promotes the upcoming special Blu-ray & CD BOX set.
Based on an original concept by Kubo Mitsurou and Yamamoto Sayo, Yuri!!! on ICE aired from October to December 2016 on TV Asahi and other networks. Produced by MAPPA, the series is a full-fledged men’s figure skating anime that gained attention for its realistic skating sequences, choreographed by Miyamoto Kenji.
The story follows Katsuki Yuuri, who after a crushing defeat at the Grand Prix Final retreats to his family home, torn between continuing his career and retiring. His life changes when he meets Russian prodigy Yuri Plisetsky and five-time world champion Victor Nikiforov. The anime was groundbreaking in its depiction of skating from angles and with dynamic motion impossible in real competitions, delivering the beauty of figure skating through animation and moving audiences worldwide.
The newly released 15-second CM features Suwabe Junichi’s new narration as Victor. It captures the tense atmosphere of the six skaters heading into the Grand Prix Final, along with a scene of Yuuri kissing his matching ring with Victor to psych himself up, while Victor watches. The video rekindles the emotion and excitement of the original series, building anticipation for the Blu-ray & CD BOX.
The “Yuri!!! on ICE 10th anniversary SPECIAL Blu-ray & CD BOX” limited edition is set for release on December 23, 2026, priced at 38,000 yen (tax excluded) / 41,800 yen (tax included).
