The “Fullmetal Alchemist × Yomi no Tsugai Exhibition” opened today, August 13, 2026, at the Event Square on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza. Ahead of the public opening, voice actors Paku Romi (Edward Elric in the TV anime Fullmetal Alchemist) and Miyamoto Yume (Asa in the TV anime Yomi no Tsugai) toured the exhibition and shared their thoughts on the displays and the appeal of the event.
The exhibition offers a comprehensive experience of both of Hiromu Arakawa’s works, Fullmetal Alchemist and Yomi no Tsugai. It features over 300 original drawings, rough sketches, and production materials, along with three-dimensional displays such as the Gate of Truth from Fullmetal Alchemist and a Yomi no Tsugai area where visitors can enjoy the Blacklist (Enma-chou) introduction of the Tsugai. The exhibition also includes a section where the two worlds intersect.
In the following interview, Paku discusses the Fullmetal Alchemist displays, while Miyamoto talks about the Yomi no Tsugai section.
Paku Romi on Fullmetal Alchemist
When asked about her first impression of the exhibition, Paku said: “Even at previous Fullmetal Alchemist exhibitions, I was overwhelmed by Hiromu Arakawa’s world the moment I entered, and I felt like I had jumped into that world. This time, too, it’s an exhibition that stirs up both painful feelings and joy from the very start. In the Yomi no Tsugai corner, having the left and right guardians at the entrance immediately pulled me into the Yomi no Tsugai world, and at the end, there’s a display where the two worlds cross, which moved me.”

Asked what she would recommend to Fullmetal Alchemist fans, Paku highlighted the Q&A section with Arakawa: “I recommend the Q&A with Arakawa-sensei. I could feel her love in each answer, so please check it out. The words to Ed and Al made me feel warm inside!”
Regarding her approach to voicing Edward Elric, Paku said: “He’s a character who never lies, so I try to eliminate all the lies within myself when I play him. Even for the CM recording this time, I did many takes.”
When asked about a favorite scene, she mentioned the concept of equivalent exchange: “There are so many iconic lines, but I often think about the phrase ‘equivalent exchange’ in my own life.”
She also noted that the exhibition includes a confession scene at the end of the Fullmetal Alchemist area, and encouraged visitors to listen to it.
On merchandise, Paku said: “I want to buy everything, but the metallic clear file really caught my eye. The metallic finish and the Gate of Truth scene look cool, so I hope everyone buys it.”
Miyamoto Yume on Yomi no Tsugai
Miyamoto expressed her joy at seeing characters from both series together: “I’m so happy to see the characters from the series that all my friends in the same year were into, and the one I’m currently voicing in the anime, all lined up together. It’s also great to see the original drawings in this day and age, and since Yomi no Tsugai is currently airing, I think fans watching the anime will enjoy spotting scenes they’ve seen.”

For Yomi no Tsugai fans, Miyamoto recommended the large Gabriel figure: “There are many highlights, but I saw people taking photos of the big Gabriel at AnimeJapan in March, so I’m glad it’s being shown outside Tokyo this time. I know its teeth are powerful, but they’re so clean that I want it to bite me. I hope everyone takes a photo with it.”
On voicing Asa, Miyamoto said: “The recording studio for Yomi no Tsugai is very friendly and lively, but Asa has a mission to find her parents, so during the actual recording, I try to live as Asa, resisting the cheerful atmosphere.”
She also mentioned a favorite scene: “In episode 17, which aired recently, you can really see how much Gabu-chan cares about Asa. Looking at the original drawings, I was reminded that Gabu-chan has always felt this way about Asa. There’s also a display showing Asa’s love for her brother, so I hope people enjoy seeing and hearing that.”
For merchandise, Miyamoto recommended the official exhibition book: “The ‘Fullmetal Alchemist × Yomi no Tsugai OFFICIAL EXHIBITION BOOK’ has a cover illustration by Arakawa-sensei drawn specifically for this exhibition. I love the expressions that convey each character’s will, and the inside is also very substantial, so I recommend it.”
Mutual Impressions
Paku noted: “In the materials corner, there’s an actual model of the guardian dogs (komainu) that inspired the left and right guardians. There’s also a family scene corner, and you should pay attention to the TV footage. I enjoyed the way the display leads you into the Yomi no Tsugai area.”
Miyamoto said: “I was overwhelmed by the power of Arakawa-sensei’s original drawings, each one conveying so much. This is a chance to see Ed’s cool, mature expressions all at once, so I hope people see the originals in person.”

Paku: “I have a character I love so much that I’ve dreamed about them—Es, the sadistic one. I love Es-chan.”
Miyamoto: “I really love the relationship between Ed and Al.”
Messages to Fans
Paku: “From the moment you enter, you’ll be drawn into Hiromu Arakawa’s world. You can feel that both Fullmetal Alchemist and Yomi no Tsugai were born from her hand. I hope many people come and experience the warmth and energy that only hand-drawn art can convey.”
Miyamoto: “I’ve been looking forward to this exhibition since I heard about it. It’s an exhibition where you can feel the love of many people, so even those who haven’t read Yomi no Tsugai yet will enjoy it.
