Voice actor Kimura Ryouhei’s popular serialization “Sake to Namida to Ryouhei to” is getting a special photo book edition titled “Sake to Namida to Ryouhei to Wanko.” The book, which focuses on his beloved dog, will be released on October 2, 2026. It features a mix of everyday moments with his pet, a fashion shoot, and scenes from a beer bar visit.
The serialization has been running since the first volume of the visual magazine “TV Guide VOICE STARS,” which takes a personal look at male voice actors. Known for his love of food and drink, Kimura visits various restaurants in Tokyo for the series. This special edition, however, turns the spotlight on his dog, a topic that has frequently come up in the column.
Previous compilation books have been released on a three-year cycle, and this new volume arrives three years after the last one. Unlike earlier installments, it is dedicated entirely to his canine companion.
In a house studio setting that suggests daily life with Kimura, the book captures the dog lying on a bed with him, waiting for meals, and watching him work on his computer. Outdoor shots include not only walks but also a lively scene where the dog runs at full speed, pulling Kimura along by the leash.
Beyond these realistic situations, the photo book also includes a fashion shoot. The dog appears alongside Kimura in sharp sunglasses, and in avant-garde outfits for a more stylish session. There are also aesthetic shots featuring white lace gloves and a white ribbon, highlighting both Kimura and his dog in a refined manner.
As with the regular serialization, the pair also visits a dog-friendly beer bar. Kimura is seen quenching his thirst with beer while his dog shows keen interest in the menu items. The result is a collection of heartwarming images that feel like a peek into their private time together.
In November, a signing event will be held to commemorate the book’s release. A total of 260 people will be selected by lottery from those who purchase either the “TV Guide VOICE STARS Special Edition Kimura Ryouhei Photo Book ‘Sake to Namida to Ryouhei to Wanko’ Animeimate/Gamers Set with Acrylic Stand” or the standard edition at Animeimate or Gamers. The event is scheduled for November 21, 2026 (Saturday).
The event will be held in two parts, with a separate lottery for each. Those who apply for both parts may win in both, but the bonuses differ for each part, so applicants should pay close attention to the details.
Additionally, a limited edition with a different cover design and a making-of DVD will be available at select stores.
