McDonald’s Japan has announced a new lineup for its Happy Set, featuring beloved characters from the puppet world of Puppet Sunsun and the popular picture book series Pan Dorobou, alongside a special Pokemon mini encyclopedia. The sets will be available nationwide from August 28, 2026, for a limited time, excluding some stores.
For the Puppet Sunsun and Pan Dorobou Happy Sets, each purchase will also include one bonus toy from previously released Happy Set items, while supplies last.
Puppet Sunsun Sticker Sets
Making its first appearance in a Happy Set, Puppet Sunsun brings the residents of the puppet country Toohock to McDonald’s. The set features original McDonald’s designs combining Sunsun, Nonnon, and Zonzon with iconic McDonald’s motifs. Four different sticker sets are available, each containing a mix of original word stickers and motif-based stickers.
These stickers encourage imaginative play, letting children create stories and conversations between the characters, which helps develop social awareness. They can also be used to decorate pencil cases and notebooks, fostering self-expression. Additionally, the My McDonald’s Rewards program will offer a limited-time original wallpaper featuring Puppet Sunsun.
Pan Dorobou Sticker Books
Fans of the hit picture book series Pan Dorobou can enjoy four types of sticker books filled with activities set in the character’s world. These include original McDonald’s-only sticker designs, along with puzzles like spot-the-difference and silhouette quizzes that help develop shape and spatial recognition. A maze activity encourages logical thinking as children figure out the best route to gather friends and reach the goal.
Pokemon Mini Encyclopedia
As part of the book Happy Set, a mini encyclopedia titled Pokemon Seitai Zukan Mini will also be available. This compact guide focuses on the eating habits and ecology of Pokemon, exploring their characteristics through themes of differences, commonalities, rules, and connections. The book includes a review quiz, an imagination challenge quiz, and original Happy Set stickers. It’s a fun way to deepen understanding of wild Pokemon life.

– Sales period: August 28, 2026 (Friday) for approximately 7 weeks
– Sales area: Nationwide McDonald’s stores (excluding some locations)
– Note: Quantities are limited. The picture book and mini encyclopedia will switch to the next series after about 2 months.
