September 9 has been officially recognized as “Attack on Titan Day” by the Japan Anniversary Association, marking the date when Hajime Isayama’s manga first began serialization in 2009. The announcement comes with a special visual, a free reading campaign, exclusive merchandise, and a live stream featuring the anime’s main cast.
Special Visual Unveiled
To celebrate the establishment of “Attack on Titan Day,” a special visual has been released. The artwork is built around the number 9 and the nine Titans that symbolize the series, with a logo inspired by the Founding Titan placed in the lower right corner.
99-Hour Free Reading Campaign on Magapoke
Starting September 9, 2026, the official free manga app Magapoke will run a “99-hour limited 99-chapter free reading” campaign. From 0:00 on September 9 (Wednesday) to 2:59 AM on September 13 (Sunday), the first 99 chapters of Attack on Titan will be available for free.
Commemorative Goods at Magazine Shop
Also from September 9, the Magazine Shop—the first offline shop for Weekly Shonen Magazine—will sell special goods commemorating the day. In addition to the “Attack on Titan Day” visual, the lineup includes items featuring newly drawn illustrations by Hajime Isayama of Eren, Levi, and Erwin.
Special Live Stream with Voice Cast
On the evening of September 9 (Wednesday), a special live stream will be held to mark the occasion. Yuki Kaji (Eren Yeager), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackerman), and Hiro Shimono (Connie Springer) are scheduled to appear, sharing various information about Attack on Titan.
