Shogakukan’s annual manga fest “KoKore! 2026” began on September 1, 2026, at participating bookstores across Japan. This year, the event offers a special novelty: a “privacy protection sleeve & card” available in 13 designs.
As always, the fest rewards readers with one novelty per purchase of a participating manga volume. With 50 works in the lineup—from massive hits like Meitantei Conan and Sousou no Frieren to promising new series—there’s something for every fan. The novelty set includes a card sleeve designed to hide sensitive information on student IDs, driver’s licenses, and other important cards, along with a double-sided card that showcases the series’ artwork.
Digital Campaign “Matsuri 2026”
In addition, the large-scale digital manga campaign “Matsuri 2026” starts on September 4. For a limited time, around 470 works—over 1,500 volumes in total—are available to read for free at participating digital stores.
Each Friday, popular and recommended works are released in themed features. The eight features are:
- Feature 1: “From mainstream to buzzworthy! A heart-pounding shonen manga special!” (September 4–17)
- Feature 2: “From fluffy romance to adult love! A love story fair overflowing with excitement!” (September 11–24)
- Feature 3: “Timeless emotion and thrills! A selection of shonen and seinen masterpieces!” (September 18–October 1)
- Feature 4: “Where big hits are born. A next-break vertical manga fair you must read now!” (September 25–October 8)
- Feature 5: “Thrills and human drama not to be missed! A satisfying seinen manga special!” (October 2–15)
- Feature 6: “Dreams, adventures, and fates… A shojo and josei manga fair for moving encounters!” (October 9–22)
- Feature 7: “Reincarnation, sweet indulgence, and comebacks! A popular isekai and noble lady manga special!” (October 16–29)
- Feature 8: “Loved across generations! A selection of shojo and josei classics!” (October 23–November 5)
