About Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho
For those unfamiliar, Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho is a beloved TV anime series adapted from the manga of the same name by Togashi Yoshihiro, which was originally serialized in “Weekly Shounen Jump”. The story follows Urameshi Yuusuke, a delinquent who dies saving a child and is then resurrected as a Spirit Detective. His mission is to protect the peace between the human world and the Spirit World, often battling formidable yokai with the help of his trusted companions: Kuwabara Kazuma, Kurama, and Hiei.
The anime originally aired for a remarkable 112 episodes from October 1992 to January 1995. The series celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2022, a testament to its enduring popularity. Most recently, in December 2023, a live-action drama adaptation starring Kitamura Takumi as Urameshi Yuusuke premiered on Netflix, introducing the classic tale to a new generation of fans.
