According to the latest figures, the film drew 1,093,178 viewers and earned 1,838,113,160 yen during its first 17 days of release, from August 28 to September 13, 2026.

The film opened at number one in the weekend box office rankings on its first weekend, reaching 1 billion yen in just four days and surpassing 900,000 viewers / 1.5 billion yen by the tenth day. The continued momentum has brought the cumulative totals to new heights.

This is the first completely new film in the series in approximately 13 years since Gekijouban Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: [Shinpen] Hangyaku no Monogatari (Rebellion). It reunites key staff members including chief director Shinbou Akiyuki, screenwriter Urobuchi Gen (Nitroplus), and original character designer Aoki Ume. The story picks up after the shocking conclusion of Rebellion, as Akemi Homura, who became a devil out of love for Madoka, faces a newly created world and the magical girls who return.
