Puppet Sunsun is getting its first official guidebook, and it’s packed with brand-new reveals. The book, titled Puppet Sunsun Guidebook, is set to hit shelves on November 11, 2026, with pre-orders now available at Rakuten Books, Amazon, and other online bookstores starting September 16.
What’s Inside the Guidebook?
The guidebook promises a deep dive into the world of Toohock with a wealth of never-before-seen information. Along with character introductions, it includes the mythology and even a map of the land of Toohock—both being first-time reveals. The book also features brand-new gravure-style photo spreads of Sunsun, Nonnon, Zonzon, Tsukutsuku, and Fanfan, captured exclusively for this publication.
Store Campaigns and Bookmark
To celebrate the release, around 600 bookstores nationwide will offer original merchandise, including a book cover and a glasses case, both adorned with the adorable Sunsun design.
Customers who purchase the guidebook at participating stores will receive a “FUWAA” bookmark as a bonus. Additionally, spending 2,200 yen (tax included) or more on bookstore-original items will net a novelty gift, with further details to be announced later.
Pop-Up Stores and ‘Where’s SUNSUN?’ Event
In addition, 12 bookstores will host pop-up events featuring new merchandise using artwork from the book. Locations and hours will be revealed in the future.
Meanwhile, a hands-on event called “Where’s SUNSUN?” will take place at 195 Miraiya bookstore locations across Japan from November 11 to November 29, 2026. Visitors can search the stores to find hidden Sunsun characters and collect keywords. Those who gather them all and present them to staff will receive a “cover-style sticker.” Also, buying qualifying paperback books at Miraiya stores will earn an “original paperback book cover.”
Release Details and Pre-Orders
The Puppet Sunsun Guidebook will be published by Poplar Publishing. It’s priced at 2,090 yen (tax included), A5 size, with 127 color pages. The contents are organized into five chapters: PROFILE, TOOHOCK, MOVIES, SONGS, and COMICS.
Pre-orders are available now through online bookstores. Those who reserve at Rakuten Books by September 24, 2026, are guaranteed a sheet sticker bonus, while other stores will offer it while supplies last.
