The live-action Hollywood adaptation of Capcom’s long-running fighting game series, Street Fighter: The Movie, is set to be released worldwide on October 16, 2026. Today it was announced that Kuzuha, a popular VTuber from Nijisanji, will be joining the Japanese dub cast, marking his first ever film voice acting role.
The Street Fighter franchise began as an arcade game in 1987, and the 1991 release of Street Fighter II became a massive hit with its innovative versus system. To date, the series has sold over 60 million copies worldwide. The latest entry, Street Fighter 6, launched in 2023, has sold 7.2 million units globally as of June 30, 2026.
At a special event for the film held today at Makuhari Messe as part of Tokyo Game Show 2026, returning voice actors from the original games took the stage: Takahashi Hiroki as Ryu, Kishi Yuuji as Ken, Orikasa Fumiko as Chun-Li, as well as Street Fighter 6 game director and film producer Nakayama Takayuki. During the event, the latest Japanese trailer and other news were unveiled—and as a surprise, Kuzuha’s involvement was revealed.
Kuzuha, who is well known as an enthusiastic player of Street Fighter 6 and has boosted the game’s community through his own events, will voice Marvin, an agent of Interpol. “When I heard the offer, I thought, ‘Wait, are you serious? Is it really me?’ I was completely shocked,” he said. Reflecting on the recording, he added, “I was pretty nervous, but it felt incredibly fresh. I’m grateful for such a valuable experience.” He described Marvin as “a really nice character with quite a bit of quirkiness,” and encouraged fans to enjoy both the heated battles true to Street Fighter and the interactions between the characters.
Second Batch of Japanese Dub Cast Announced
The event also unveiled the second batch of Japanese dub voice actors: Taketora as Akuma, Kusunoki Daisuke as Vega, Kusuda Toshiyuki as Dan, Egawa Daisuke as Dhalsim, Suwabe Junichi as Balrog, Miyake Kenta as Zangief, Nagano Zenichi as Edmond Honda, Tanaka Kumi as Yuri, and Ueda Yuuji as Blanka.
Theater Visitor Bonus
In addition, a theater-visitor bonus has been set. From the film’s October 16 opening, limited-quantity character stickers inspired by the movie’s character visuals will be distributed randomly. The lineup includes Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Balrog, Blanka, and Zangief, plus a rare holographic Ryu sticker that appears in 1 out of every 100, making seven designs in total.
