The first-day atmosphere has arrived for the “Honey Lemon Soda Completion Memorial Exhibition,” celebrating the end of the beloved shoujo manga series. The exhibition is being held at the Seibu Shibuya Store B Building 4F Event Space until September 30, 2026.
About the Series
Honey Lemon Soda is an “endlessly heart-pounding youth love story” by Murata Mayu, serialized in the shoujo manga magazine Ribon. The story follows Ishimori Kako, who enrolls in a school with a free-spirited atmosphere in order to change herself, and her encounter with Miura Kai, a popular classmate with lemon-colored hair, as she gradually grows through their interactions.
The series has surpassed a cumulative circulation of 16 million copies including digital versions. A live-action film adaptation was released in 2021, followed by a TV anime in 2025. The manga concluded in the May 2026 issue of Ribon, released on April 3, 2026, closing a serialization that lasted roughly ten and a half years.
Exhibition Zones and Highlights
The memorial exhibition offers a space where visitors can step into the world of Honey Lemon Soda and experience the youth-filled days that Kako and Kai wove together, alongside displays that retrace the story’s progression. Original artwork, participatory projects, and photo spots allow fans to enjoy the series from multiple angles.
ZONE 0: The Entrance to the Story
This opening area begins with a gate shaped like a comic book, featuring comments from Murata Mayu, character profiles, and cherry blossom decorations, drawing visitors into the world of the manga.
ZONE 1: Kako’s Inner Conflict
This section focuses on scenes and words that symbolize the struggles Kako has carried. Visitors can participate by writing their own feelings on sticky notes under the theme “What did you want to say but couldn’t?”
ZONE 2: Change and Growth
Original art, memorable scenes, and a space decorated with feathers are the highlights here. This area traces how Kako gradually begins to change after meeting Kai.
ZONE 3: Youth at Yatsumi High School
Inspired by classrooms and school festivals, this zone recreates the high school life of Yatsumi High with blackboards, desks and chairs, garlands, and balloons. Visitors can enjoy taking photos while feeling part of Kako and her friends’ school days.
ZONE 4: The Moment of Conveying Feelings
This area centers on impressive love and confession scenes, especially those involving Kako and Kai. Alongside original illustrations and dialogue displays, spatial recreations of a classroom, stage, and podium allow visitors to relive key moments.
ZONE 5: Each Love and Choice
This zone revisits the relationships and romantic developments of the supporting characters through original art and graphics. Interactive displays such as a smartphone-themed installation and a “which side are you?” voting corner invite participation.
ZONE 6: As Many Memories, As Many Springs
As the finale area, this section looks back on the main story and memorable scenes centered on Kako and Kai. Many color illustrations and blackboard displays are featured, including a board where visitors can write down their own “impressive scenes or lines” and “best school memories.”

At the merchandise area, products using newly drawn illustrations created specifically for the exhibition are available, including limited reproduction artworks featuring these gorgeous original visuals.
