Tougen Anki Season 2 Nikko Arc Reveals New Cast, Theme Songs, and October 2, 2026 Premiere

The TV anime Tougen Anki is set to return with its second season, ~Nikko – Kegon no Taki Arc~, which will premiere on October 2, 2026. Along with the broadcast announcement, the key visual, latest PV, new cast members, and theme song artists have been revealed.

Based on the manga by Urushihara Yurai serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion, Tougen Anki has surpassed 6.5 million copies in cumulative circulation. The story reimagines the classic Japanese tale of Momotaro, focusing on the struggle between descendants of oni and those with Momotaro blood. After airing the Kyoto and Nerima arcs in 2025, the story now moves to the Nikko – Kegon no Taki Arc.

Key Visual and PV Tease New Setting

The newly released key visual for the new arc places characters Shiki, Mudano, and Yaoroshi along with the Oni Country Corps captain Todoroki against the backdrop of a mysterious research institute. Yaoroshi appears in a getup different from the usual Rasetsu Academy uniform, leaving fans curious about how the plot will unfold. The latest PV offers a first glimpse at several newly introduced characters from the Momotaro organization opposing the oni side.

New Cast Members Join the Momotaro Organization

The newly announced cast are as follows:

• Momouchi Kusabi (voiced by Suzumura Kenichi)
• Momoji Hazure (voiced by Kaji Yuki)
• Momoo Senritsu (voiced by Taniyama Kisho)

Theme Song Artists Announced

The opening theme will be Hiromitsu Kitayama’s “BACKLASH”, while the ending theme is TRACK15’s “Te to Te”. A portion of both songs can be heard in the recently released PV. Comments from both artists are also available on the official website.

Special Edited Versions Ahead of Premiere

Prior to the new arc, special edited versions of the previous seasons will air on NTV. The Kyoto Arc will air on September 30 at 25:35 (1:35 AM), followed by the Nerima Arc on October 1 at 25:35. Both will be available on streaming platforms after their broadcasts.

Broadcast and Streaming Details

The second season ~Nikko – Kegon no Taki Arc~ premieres on October 2, 2026, at 11:30 PM in the FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT (Fura Ani) block on NTV, with a nationwide network of 30 stations. It will be simulcast domestically on ABEMA, d Anime Store, U-NEXT, and Anime Houdai immediately after airing. BS Nittele will start broadcasting from October 5 at 11:30 PM. The new arc is planned as a split two-cour run, with the second cour following in April 2027.

The series is also available on various streaming platforms. From October 2, every Friday at 24:30, and starting October 5, every Monday at 24:30, the following platforms will carry the second season: AnimeFesta, Disney+, DMM TV, FOD, Google TV, YouTube, HAPPY! Video, Hulu, J:COM STREAM, Lemino, milplus, Netflix, Prime Video, TELASA, Video Market, WOWOW On Demand, Nico Nico Channel, Bandai Channel, VIDE X, Furatto Doga, Movie Full Plus. TVer will begin streaming on October 8 at 24:30.

For the special edited versions, after their NTV broadcasts (at 26:05), they will be available on TVer, ABEMA, AnimeFesta, d Anime Store, DMM TV, FOD, Hulu, J:COM STREAM, Lemino, milplus, TELASA, U-NEXT, Anime Houdai, Bandai Channel, and Furatto Doga.
