The light novel series Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita is coming to a close. Official word from the series’ X (formerly Twitter) account confirms that the 30th and final volume is scheduled for release on October 15.
Publication History
Author Morita Kisetsu first posted the comedy fantasy story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in June 2016. SB Creative acquired the series and began releasing it in print under its GA Novel imprint in January 2017, with illustrations by Benio. The 29th volume hit shelves on January 15, and the series has sold over 3 million copies in total.
Spin-offs
Aside from the main series, several spin-off works have been published. A standalone light novel focusing on Beelzebub, titled Hira Yakunin Yatte 1500-nen, Maou no Chikara de Daijin ni Sarechaimashita, launched in September 2019. Additional spin-off stories were attached to the main volumes, including Elf no Gohan (focusing on Halkara), Reddo Dragon Jogakuin (focusing on Laika), and Henkyouhaku no Masshiro Tabi (focusing on Wynona).
Manga and English Release
Shiba Yuusuke began drawing a manga adaptation in Square Enix’s Gangan Online in June 2017. The 18th compiled volume was published on August 10. Yen Press licensed both the light novel and the manga for English release in 2017 and 2019, respectively. The 18th novel volume went on sale on July 14, while the 16th manga volume shipped on May 26. The 19th novel volume is expected on December 8.
The series ranked ninth in the tankobon division of the 2019 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! guidebook.
Anime Adaptations
A 12-episode first season aired in Spring 2021, produced by Revoroot. A second season from studio Teddy followed in Spring 2025. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with subtitles in multiple languages and also offered an English dub.
