Fall 2026 anime PSYREN -Siren- has revealed the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 1, ‘Urban Legend,’ which begins airing on Monday, October 5, 2026.
The series is based on Iwashiro Toshiaki’s manga, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 2008 to 2010. The supernatural battle suspense title was nominated three times in AnimeJapan’s ‘Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking’ and remains popular roughly 15 years after its conclusion, now receiving a long-awaited TV anime adaptation.

The cast includes Yasuda Rikuya as Yoshina Ageha, Kazama Mayuko as Amamiya Sakurako, Takeuchi Shunsuke as Asaga Hiryuu, Saitou Souma as Mochizuki Oboro, Nozuyama Yukihiro as Kirisaki Kabuto, Kaida Yuko as Yakumo Matsuri, and Hiyama Nobuyuki as Dolki.
Episode 1 ‘Urban Legend’ Synopsis
Yoshina Ageha is a first-year high school student who runs a jack-of-all-trades service solving cases by helping people. In reality, he is an empty youth who merely wants a reason to fight. Ageha finds a suspicious telephone card at a public phone he passes. It is the same kind that his childhood friend Amamiya Sakurako had. Later, Amamiya leaves him with the words ‘Help me…’ and goes missing.
Ageha investigates the card and arrives at a certain urban legend: the Secret Society Siren and its messenger, the mysterious Nemesis Q, will lead humans to paradise. Ageha laughs off the rumor, but mysterious assassins appear targeting the card. Cornered, Ageha calls for help; the moment he answers the ringing phone, his body is sent to an unknown wasteland.
