The TV anime PSYREN -Sairen- premieres today, October 5, 2026, on TOKYO MX and other channels. Ahead of the broadcast, a non-credit opening video featuring CLAN QUEEN’s ‘WARNING!!’ has been released. Celebratory illustrations from five manga artists connected to original creator Iwashiro Toshiaki have also arrived.
A Long-Awaited Return
PSYREN -Sairen- is a psychic battle suspense manga by Iwashiro Toshiaki that ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 2008 to 2010. The series was nominated three times in AnimeJapan’s ‘Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking’ and remains popular about 15 years after its conclusion. The adaptation is directed by Ono Katsumi, with animation production by Satelight.
Story and Cast
The story starts when Yoshina Ageha, a first-year high school student, picks up a red telephone card left at a public phone. A few days later, his childhood friend and classmate Amamiya Sakurako, who had the same telephone card, disappears. To find her, Ageha accesses the secret society Sairen, rumored to be the mastermind behind a nationwide string of mysterious disappearances. A life-or-death game then begins.

Celebratory Illustrations
Five artists associated with Iwashiro Toshiaki contributed celebratory illustrations ahead of the premiere: Sakamoto Yuujirou (Takaya), Tabata Yuuki (Black Clover), Tamura Ryuuhei (Beelzebub), Matsumoto Naoya (Kaijuu 8-gou), and Miyata Daisuke (Saikyou no Uta).
Non-Credit OP
The non-credit opening video is set to CLAN QUEEN’s fast-paced opening theme ‘WARNING!!’. It shows the present-day world and a ruined future world, along with Ageha and his allies fighting desperately to reclaim their future. The video also includes characters who have not yet been revealed.
