A TV anime adaptation of Houkago Kitaku Biyori has been confirmed, and the series is set to air on Nippon TV from April 2027. The announcement came alongside the release of a teaser visual and a celebratory illustration drawn by original creator Matsuda Mai.
A going-home club romantic comedy
The original manga is written by Matsuda Mai and is currently serialized in Futabasha’s Manga Action and web Action. The story centers on Satou Naoki, a unique upperclassman nicknamed “Chokki-chan” whose catchphrase is “I want to go home,” and Satou Shun, a new student who has given up on his dreams. Through the “Hyper Kitakubu,” the pair gradually deepen their relationship in this after-school youth romantic comedy about the going-home club.
Volumes 1 through 6 of the manga are on sale, and the latest seventh volume was released on October 8.
Teaser visual and a message from the creator
The newly revealed teaser visual depicts the protagonist, “Chokki-chan,” waiting for someone at the school gate, making for a memorable image that suits a story about a going-home club. Further details, including the cast, will be announced at a later date.
