The Japanese-dubbed version of the Chinese-produced anime Shikin Gobyobou: Shikinjou Neko Keibishitsu has revealed the synopsis and preview cuts for Episode 1, “Bouken no Hajimari” (“The Beginning of the Adventure”). The episode is set to begin airing on October 10, 2026, and the first broadcast will run Episodes 1 through 4 without a break.
Story and Setting
Based on a manga modeled after cats that actually live in the Forbidden City in Beijing, Shikin Gobyobou is a Chinese-made anime presented with a Japanese dub. In one corner of the Forbidden City is Shikin Gobyobou, a secret organization that protects national treasures. Its members are six cats who possess both wisdom and courage.
To protect the Bukka (物華), the memories that reside in cultural properties, the cats enter the Bukka world. Their mission is to defeat the evil Black Owl, who damages the Bukka, and to return the Bukka world to its correct path.
The lively and uniquely individual cats sometimes fight and sometimes combine their strength as they seek to protect important cultural properties and the memories engraved within them. A new legend begins in the Forbidden City, unknown to humans. Soubi and his companions’ adventure starts now.
