TV anime Natsume Yuujinchou is adding a practical piece of character apparel to its lineup. COSPA, known for official character goods and apparel, has revealed the Nyanko-sensei Yojinbo Zip Hoodie, a design that lets the self-proclaimed bodyguard watch the wearer’s back.
Nyanko-sensei Takes on Bodyguard Duty
The new item is named the TV Anime Natsume Yuujinchou Nyanko-sensei Yojinbo Zip Hoodie and comes in two colors. It places Nyanko-sensei and the word YOJINBO on the chest and back. The hoodie uses a double-zip specification, allowing the wearer to adjust the fit to suit their body type and styling.
The fabric is made from fine yarn knitted at high density for durability and an elegant luster. It is 100 percent cotton, giving it a soft feel against the skin. With its comfortable warmth, it should be useful for short outings in chilly weather.
About Natsume Yuujinchou
Natsume Yuujinchou is based on the manga by Midorikawa Yuki, serialized in Monthly LaLa. The story is an ayakashi contract tale. Natsume Takashi is a lonely boy who carries the secret that he can see youkai. After inheriting the Yuujin-chou, a keepsake from his grandmother Reiko, who had strong youkai power, he becomes a target for youkai. Together with the self-proclaimed bodyguard Nyanko-sensei, he spends busy days dealing with the contracts his grandmother made with youkai.
The TV anime began with its first season in 2008 and has aired through a sixth season. Kamiya Hiroshi voices the protagonist Natsume Takashi, while Inoue Kazuhiko voices Nyanko-sensei. In September 2018, a theatrical film depicting the series’ first feature-length original episode was released. In January 2021, two short episodes popular with fans received limited theatrical screenings. On October 7, 2024, the seventh season, Natsume Yuujinchou Shichi, aired.
