About Nintama Rantarou
Nintama Rantarou is based on Amako Soubee’s manga Rakudai Ninja Rantarou, which began serialization in Asahi Shogakusei Shinbun in 1986. The TV anime has been broadcast since 1993 and continues to be loved by a wide range of generations. Set in the Sengoku period, it follows the bright, fun, and cheerful days of ninja trainees called ‘Nintama,’ centered on the trio Rantarou, Kirimaru, and Shinbee, as they study at Ninjutsu Gakuen.
In December 2024, Gekijouban Nintama Rantarou Dokutake Ninjatai Saikyou no Gunshi was released, adapting the novel Shousetsu Rakudai Ninja Rantarou Dokutake Ninjatai Saikyou no Gunshi. The story begins when Doi-sensei heads to a duel with Tasogaredoki ninja Moroizumi Sonnamon and goes missing, leading to a serious development different from the usual Nintama tone.
