The TV anime Dandadan made its first appearance in Colombia with a booth at SOFA (Salón del Ocio y la Fantasía), the country’s largest and South America’s second-largest pop culture event. The event was held in Bogotá from October 8 to 12, 2026. The booth was part of MBS’s overseas expansion efforts and marked the company’s first event exhibition in Colombia.

Based on Ryu Yukinobu’s manga serialized on Shueisha’s manga app Shonen Jump+, Dandadan follows Okarun (Takakura Ken), an occult fan who does not believe in ghosts, and Momo (Ayase Momo), a high school girl who does not believe in aliens, as they confront various paranormal phenomena. The manga has surpassed 14 million cumulative copies in circulation, and app views exceeded 1 billion as of June 2026. Its fast-paced story and powerful battle scenes have drawn readers, and the TV anime—season 1 from October to December 2024, season 2 from July to September 2025, and a planned season 3 in 2027—has attracted attention in Japan and abroad.
Turbo Granny Meets The World
Under the banner Turbo Granny Meets The World, the TV anime has been actively exhibiting at pop culture events around the world. The busy autumn season lineup has included or is scheduled to include Fan Expo DALLAS (USA), San Diego Comic Con Malaga (Spain), UwUAFTERDARK (Colombia), New York Comic Con (USA), OC Japan Fair (USA), and the ADN Tour, which starts in Lille, France, and travels to cities across the country. At the venues, limited local Turbo Granny designs tied to each country or city were shown exclusively to visitors.

Turbo Granny and Serpo aliens draw Colombian fans
At the SOFA booth, the popular characters Turbo Granny and the Serpo aliens appeared, drawing loud cheers from the venue. A constant line of visitors waited for commemorative photos, and attendees ranged from young people and families with small children to local elderly fans. The venue was filled with fans wearing novelty masks shaped like Dandadan characters, creating a lively success filled with smiles and enthusiasm.
The TV anime will continue overseas exhibitions, with a planned appearance at Lucca Comics & Games in Italy, one of Europe’s largest pop culture events, at the end of October. Ahead of the 2027 third season, expectations for the series’ global momentum continue to grow.
