Nanase Tsumugi, the voice of Arimura Mao in Gakuen Idolmaster, will release her first photobook, Tsumugi, on October 30, 2026. Ahead of the launch, a full set of bonus photos has been revealed, and applications for a signing-event lottery are still open.
A first photobook built around a major change
Nanase was born on June 1 and is affiliated with Holy Peak. Her credits include Arimura Mao in the smartphone game Gakuen Idolmaster and a kindergarten child in the anime Uchuujin Muumuu.
Shot in spring 2026, Tsumugi documents Nanase before and after she cut her long hair, which had grown down past her knees, into a dramatically shorter style. The result is a commemorative volume that captures both sides of the transformation.
The standard edition cover is shown below.
Conceptual looks before and after the cut
During the long-haired portion of the shoot, Nanase was photographed in conceptual outfits and situations including gothic lolita, kimono, China dress, and Y2K styles. After the haircut, the book shifts to themes such as a Western-boy-style outfit and animal-inspired costumes, while also including many natural cuts in loungewear and dresses with a soft atmosphere. The photobook further includes documentary photos taken at the moment she cuts her hair.
The bonus photos now unveiled also use newly shot location images from the photobook shoot. Because the bonuses include both pre- and post-haircut cuts, readers can look for their favorites. Editing and production are handled by Seiyuu Grand Prix, which has produced numerous voice actor photobooks.
Bonus visuals and release details
The revealed bonus visuals include an Amazon-exclusive cover and a Yodobashi Camera L-size bromide.
The photobook is priced at 3,960 yen (tax included). The standard and special editions are both listed at 3,960 yen (tax included).
