Touken Ranbu Stage 10th Anniversary: Mikazuki Munechika and Yamanbagiri Kunihiro Take Over anan Cover

The stage adaptation of Touken Ranbu is marking its 10th anniversary with a magazine takeover. Mikazuki Munechika, played by Suzuki Hiroki, appears on the front cover of the special edition of women’s gravure weekly anan, while Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, played by Aramaki Yoshihiko, takes the back cover. The issue goes on sale Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at bookstores, convenience stores, and online bookstores nationwide.

Two cover stars and a 10th-anniversary stage

Based on Touken Ranbu ONLINE, the PC browser and smartphone game in which famous swords become warriors called Touken Danshi and battle enemies plotting to alter history, the stage series began in 2016. It has become a major presence in the 2.5D stage world. This autumn, it is scheduled to present the 10th-anniversary special performance Touken Ranbu Yoden: Tsuki to Taiyou to Hoshoboshi yo.

For that occasion, the anan special edition puts Mikazuki Munechika on the cover and Yamanbagiri Kunihiro on the back cover. A studio shoot captures Suzuki Hiroki and Aramaki Yoshihiko in strikingly beautiful form, showing sword handling and movement worthy of the stage itself.

Both the cover and back cover use detailed special finishing inspired by the swords. The beauty of the blades and costumes, carefully crafted by the stage staff, stands out down to the finest details.

13 Touken Danshi in a 24-page color feature

Inside, the magazine gathers all 13 Touken Danshi appearing in the Yoden performance. In addition to Mikazuki Munechika and Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, the lineup includes Onimaru Kunitsuna (Matsuda Shouta), Yagen Toushirou (Kitamura Ryou), Shokudaikiri Mitsutada (Higashi Keisuke), Kashuu Kiyomitsu (Matsuda Ryou), Kasen Kanesada (Wada Takuma), Mutsu no Kami Yoshiyuki (Aoki Jin), Hachisuka Kotetsu (Gotou Dai), Heshikiri Hasebe (Wada Masanari), Kogarasumaru (Tamaki Yuuki), Tsurumaru Kuninaga (Someya Toshiyuki), and Yamanbagiri Chougi (Umezu Mizuki).

The color feature runs 24 pages and includes a solo cut and interview for each of the 13, plus a group shot.

Special appendices and a long interview

The issue includes two special appendices: cover-style cards featuring each Touken Danshi’s solo cut with the anan logo, with a photo of the corresponding sword on the back, and senjafuda-style special stickers. Both sets cover all 13 characters.

The magazine also features a long interview with Suemitsu Kenichi, who has handled the script and direction since the stage series’ first run in 2016. He discusses the secrets behind the series’ deep storytelling, his thoughts on the Yoden performance, and future developments.
