Voice actors Koshimizu Ami, who portrays Kaguya, and Uchiyama Kouki, who voices Tsukikage, have also shared their enthusiastic comments regarding their roles.
About Shin Samurai Den YAIBA
The anime is based on the beloved manga series YAIBA by the acclaimed mangaka Aoyama Gosho, known for his iconic works such as Meitantei Konan (Detective Conan) and Magic Kaito. Serialized in “Shuukan Shounen Sunday” from 1988 to 1993, the story follows the wild samurai prodigy, Kurogane Yaiba, who has been rigorously training in the jungle. Upon his return to Japan, he seeks even greater strength in new training grounds, embarking on an action-packed journey.

The Climax of Season 1: A New Threat Emerges
The first season of the TV anime premiered on April 5th, captivating audiences with its dynamic battles and vibrant characters. Its thrilling conclusion aired on September 27th with episode 24, titled “Tsuki kara no Shinryakusha” (Invaders from the Moon). In this climactic episode, a colossal ship suddenly appeared in the sky, from which emerged Kaguya, the formidable ruler of the moon, awakened from a millennium-long slumber. Determined to save Japan from Kaguya’s invasion, Yaiba resolves to become the greatest samurai in the land. Meanwhile, his rival Onimaru Takeshi also sets his sights on world domination, setting the stage for an epic showdown.
Unveiling the Second Season: New Visual and Promotional Video
To commemorate the announcement of the second season, a striking new visual has been unveiled, crafted by Character Designer and Chief Animation Director Kameda Yoshinori. This visual vividly portrays the three-way struggle for power, featuring Yaiba brandishing his Raijinken, Kaguya with an enchanting smile, and Onimaru Takeshi casting a sharp, intense gaze.
The newly released promotional video further heightens anticipation, showing Yaiba and Onimaru Takeshi’s astonished reactions to the arrival of Kaguya, the moon’s ruler. The PV also offers glimpses of Sayaka riding Shounosuke, the legendary Miyamoto Musashi, and Tsukikage, Kaguya’s loyal attendant. With Kaguya boldly declaring her intention to become “the Queen of this Earth,” viewers can look forward to uncovering her true identity and delving deeper into the millennium-old tale of intertwined destinies.
Comments from the Voice Cast
Koshimizu Ami, the voice of Kaguya, and Uchiyama Kouki, the voice of Tsukikage, have shared their thoughts on joining the epic journey of Shin Samurai Den YAIBA.
Koshimizu Ami as Kaguya

“I’m incredibly happy to be involved in a work I watched as a child, but at the same time, I feel a sense of pressure. I distinctly remember Kaguya-sama being a terrifying presence to me back then, especially the scene where a girl transforms into an old woman. I wonder if I can deliver a performance that evokes such a powerful impact… It will certainly be a struggle, but I’ll give it my absolute best!”
Uchiyama Kouki as Tsukikage

“I participated in the recording, cherishing the image of the character as depicted in the original manga. Although I joined the story midway, the staff and cast welcomed me warmly, allowing me to work comfortably. Please look forward to the anime Shin Samurai Den YAIBA!”
