Released in 1995, `MEMORIES` is an omnibus anime film that is now celebrating its 30th anniversary. Kanojo no Omoide (Magnetic Rose)
Directed by Morimoto Kouji, “Kanojo no Omoide” tells the chilling and visually stunning tale of astronauts returning from a mission who stumble upon a derelict spaceship. There, they become ensnared by the haunting and elaborate illusions crafted by a lonely, deceased genius soprano singer.
Saishuu Heiki (Stink Bomb)
“Saishuu Heiki”, directed by Okamura Tensai, plunges into dark humor to depict the unfortunate and absurd fate of a man. After accidentally taking a mysterious medicine, his body transforms into a biological weapon, producing deadly gas, leading to chaotic and unforeseen consequences.
Taihou no Machi (Cannon Fodder)
“Taihou no Machi”, personally directed by Ootomo Katsuhiro, offers a stark, poignant, and visually unique portrayal of an ordinary day in the lives of the inhabitants of a mobile cannon city. In this dystopic world, their sole purpose is to fire massive cannons, a relentless routine that shapes their entire existence.
